There’s also disabled people who have been disabled a long time, but are forced to live in nursing homes and have come to believe that’s the best life will get. Or who have encountered life circumstances that would make most people depressed, and blame their suicidal thoughts on their disability.
Not that there aren’t the occasional person who are exactly who the movement claims to represent. But more rarely, and not usually in leadership positions.
