…I’m dealing with some people who horrify me and I’m poking at horrifying things. (For reasons that I consider important but I don’t want to talk about publicly.) I’m worried about getting into the bad type of darkness. The kind where everything is about horror and exposing horror.

Dedicate a large amount of time to things that remind you of what’s actually important.
Spend a certain amount of your day not writing or thinking about horrible things.
Take vacations from the awful stuff in which you immerse yourself in good stuff.
If you are religious or spiritual, pray, or whatever your equivalent is.
Spend a certain amount of your time not writing.
