➸ Trying to find the right words: So a few questions
Since I’ve discovered the “ASD” tag, my time home from work is consumed with riffling through the blogs.
1) Even though “high functioning” and “low functioning” are unofficial terms, why are they so wrong to the point that it angers people with autism?
One gentleman’s…
It’s also because they seriously. Don’t. Work.
They’re based on observing (or thinking you’re observing) a tiny number of traits and generalizing them about an entire person.
There’s no actual science behind them either.
Ideas on what they are, contradict themselves.
And if you use them, then you are also saying that people like me pretty much don’t exist. And if you guess on someone like me, no matter what you guess, you will harm us.
