- Relatives: People on Disability are leeches and I have to work to pay for them because they feel entitled to necessities without doing any of the work themselves.
- Me: Wow, I would love to be able to work again and be considered a productive member of society instead of a burden.
- Relatives: Not you, we mean people who are cheating the system.
- Me: Actually SSI or Disability is a very lengthy process and involves a lot of paperwork that has to be sent in by you, your family, and anyone who treated you for your condition, etc. in order to fact-check and determine the validity of your claim. Maybe there are people who abuse the system, but not everyone is like that. If you're saying they're all doing that, you're tarring everyone with the same brush, and that includes me.
- Relatives: Anyone who knows you knows you're not making it up.
- Me: Exactly. You don't know these other people, so how can you make the call on who is milking the system or not?
