I love this feeling.
When my drainage bag manages to suck my stomach completely empty. Which it can’t always manage. But wow it’s amazing when it does.
Now that I’m on constant tube feedings into my intestines, an empty stomach doesn’t feel like hunger. It just feels like a blissful absence of nausea. Because anything in my stomach, even stomach fluid, nauseates me badly these days. And when I can drain my stomach empty, either with the bag or by burping the g tube, I feel so happy.
By the way I am in the process of writing some instructions on how I burp my g tube. Because the nurses at the hospital taught me nothing but open it up and hold a cup under it. And that doesn’t begin to work except on the rarest of occasions. I’ve developed a bunch of techniques for emptying my stomach and I want to eventually share them with people in the hopes they might actually work for someone. Although they’re coming with plenty of warnings because I don’t want anyone to misapply them and end up making themselves sick or damaging their tube or something. But when I burp my tube these days, I basically apply at least five or six different techniques, and I can end up with a very full cup. If I just open it over a cup and do nothing else, barely anything comes out.
