Kettleman City is a rural, majority Latino and farmworker community halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. It is home to the largest hazardous waste dump this side of the Mississippi and to shockingly high rates of childhood cancer, birth defects and miscarriages - two facts residents believe to be connected. 

Now the dump is looking to double in size and the agency responsible for approving the expansion - the Department of Toxic Substances Control - is letting it happen. We have until October 11 to stop this.

Sign the petition to demand the Dept. of Toxic Substances Control stops the dump from expanding!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS!!! My friend worked in a lab that was hired by a company who dumps at this site— her research was supposed to prove that the toxic substances do not leak into the soil and water, AND SHE PROVED THE EXACT OPPOSITE!! She found that the toxic substances being dumped at this site DID leak into the soil and water, AND THE COMPANY IMMEDIATELY WITHDREW THEIR SAMPLES AND FIRED HER LAB!! This shit is real, and it’s horrible, and it needs to stop!
