I’m really tired of the myth…

…that dying used to be easy and wonderful and ~natural~, until the big bad medical establishment came in with its ~mechanized worldview~ and forced everyone to live longer against their will until everyone lost touch with the ~natural way of dying~ that everything used to be, and now live in a ~living nightmare~ of disability and chronic illness that could be prevented if we all died earlier.

That’s not to say there’s no problems ever.  But that’s a story, it’s not a reflection of what happened back then or what happened now.
