A lot of people either don’t know, or don’t seem to care about proper conduct in a place where animals (that do not belong to you) are kept, but proper conduct is often very important. Here are some of the most important things.

Also vet offices. Vet offices are usually filled with animals who aren’t feeling well, so you shouldn’t bother them at all, especially without permission from the owner. Who is likely to say no for that express reason, really.

Generally speaking, even in normal circumstances, if you want to pet an animal that is accompanied by a human, it’s good to ask the human first *and be prepared to take no for an answer*.

I used to have a lot of problems when walking Fey because she enjoyed being walked in her kangaroo pouch thing, but she hated hated hated when people would just run up and squee in her face and randomly grope her.  And it’s not just her safety I’m worried about, if someone pissed her off enough things could get ugly.
