madeofpatterns:

As an autistic woman, womanhood is something I’ve had to fight for.

Because we’re supposed to be ~extreme male brains~ and everyone told me it was shocking to see me wearing a dress and that I was really more like a guy and that I should go away and program computers.

I mean, I *like* computers, but I’m a lousy programmer and I’m better with people stuff and dammit I *like* dresses and I like my body and I like being a woman and I don’t need to be something else just because people want to pretend that women like me don’t exist.

Between “extreme male brains” and “perpetual childhood”, womanhood is something that needs to be fought for… :(
