I’m not mad at anyone but for future reference, I don’t like it when people imply my cat does things just to be naughty or manipulative.

Same.  Cats do things for reasons.

And honestly even if they were manipulative?  They need to be!  They have so little power that sometimes manipulating is the only way to get what they need.
