I got My Diagnosis

I am not sure, If i ever got around to posting it up.

I did get my diagnosis,

I am low functioning Autism. Which was a surprise. A HUGE surprise.

I like to think of myself as capable. I can do things on my own. heaps of things on my own, but apparently on the diagnositic test that i was given, I came up in the lower quartile range for low functioning. Amazing really!!

Ohwell. Does that mean im Autie Mirage instead?

I have a lot of friends who still see me as an Aspie, so ill stick with that =)

Functioning is a false dichotomy. You could be anywhere on the map any given day. :P

In addition, Asperger’s is not a category in the DSM anymore, so depending on your location and doctor, that may have contributed.

…yeah.  I’ve been called low functioning before, but only in unofficial written descriptions, it’s not part of the diagnosis.  Maybe they meant that they were diagnosed with autistic disorder and not AS, and assumed that this meant “low functioning”?  (It doesn’t.)  I don’t know.
