Pocahontas is arguably the most inspirational Disney princess.Maybe it’s because her story is true.My sister is TOO inlove with ‘Colours of the Wind’and personally I prefer ‘Just around the Riverbend’ but hey, that’s just me :-P

the disney movie horribly bastardized a real womans life, if you wana know her story look up the real thing not the white fanfiction

*hard squint at OP*

Hahaha omg. If the movie had followed history it would have been nothing but the Powhatan saving the Brits from starvation again and again, the Brits kidnapping and gang raping a twelve-year-old Pocahontas when they wanted even ~*~more food~*~ from the Powhatan because they were too lazy to grow it themselves, (yes, John Smith raped her, too), and then this poor little girl being forced to marry one of the men who may or may not have been the father of her child by aforementioned rape before dying two years later of disease.
Yup, that’s inspirational…  About as inspirational as Auschwitz!

I forgot to add in the previous reblog that these were the same colonists who were doing things like killing their pregnant wives and salting them like hams.http://urocyon.wordpress.com/2013/05/02/wetiko-jamestown-styley/
Yes, some dude really did that. There were almost no British women there, so they ate a pregnant woman and a teenage girl. They were killing *each other* right and left. Who knows what happened to anybody else who wasn’t considered worth mentioning at the time.
These were not nice people, overall.
And it’s particularly fun to grow up in Virginia, having to read John Smith’s pompous writings and other colonist-lionizing propaganda in school while hearing some very different things at home.
