My van driver is audibly grumbling

Because he had to stop and tighten the tie downs on my wheelchair.

Because he didn’t tighten them enough to begin with.

And I started sliding sharp to the right.

Which is a terrifying experience in a moving vehicle in a big power chair.

But what do I know, it’s just too much work for him. 

This reminds me so much of the way drivers used to grumble when I got on regular buses, then only tie down one wheel to save time, leaving my whole chair bashing against the side of the bus.

While riders and drivers alike grumbled at my presence.
