All these parents posting videos of meltdowns, and holding their kids down, or duct taping them, or worse types of abuse… your kids’re going to remember this.
Autistic kids turn into autistic adults. Some of us find ways to cope and appear to be more functional than when we were kids. And we…
this is just child abuse and online can you imagine how safe people feel to abuse autistic people to put things online without caring?
Seriously. It’s really disturbing how many others just egg these horrible people on.
What really bothers me, and this started like, at least ten years ago, was this guy who took pictures of his child bruised up after a presumed meltdown (or who knows what, really, with these people) and then put words next to it saying things from “the child’s point of view” that included horrible snarky little things like “I’m bruised because I enjoy hitting myself a LOT!” I wrote some stuff about it for autistics.org that never ended up getting published because I kept getting too triggered in the middle of writing about it.
