The authors clearly think that if you’re crazy that means you cease to be a person, that all the things you were before go away and leave you an irrelevant husk. That’s a really twisted view.
A lot of people think that and it’s really disturbing.
When people saw me as crazy (which was part autism and part crazy, in reality), there was also a lot of “I want the old you back” or just “I want you back” or “We thought we were going to lose you” which felt like twenty tons of shit being dumped on my heart, from my perspective.
