I was thinking about it because Potions would probably be my favorite class as long as the teacher was not likely to yell at me for disability issues

I am still not sure how he would have been as a teacher, if he wasn’t trying to ‘collect’ you.  But I suspect he did play favorites as much as Snape did, he just had different favorites.  :-/

I’m not sure how I’d do in Potions.  I was decent at the practical part of chemistry but flunked because I couldn’t do the theory.  But I’m not sure how well chemistry and Potions correlate.  I think I’d be good at mixing them in real life.  Maybe.  If I didn’t have to organize too much.
