Because you don’t have to be underweight to have a feeding tube. You just need to be endangered in some way that a feeding tube can fix. I’m 195 pounds and I have a feeding tube for gastroparesis due to both malnutrition and aspiration.

I’m really worried about you. I know what it’s like to have people assume that not eating isn’t hurting you because you’re not severely underweight. I don’t know what I can do (with my combination of cognitive and physical issues myself) but let me know if there’s anything, including scrounging around for advocates, that I can do. I do know a lot of people in the disability rights community so my best offer would be to try to connect you with someone who could help. No promises, finding people sometimes depends on the phase of the moon or something, but I could try. If you wanted.
