I actually like Harry and Ginny, but can I just say that all your ASOIAF NoTPs are flawless? I nearly spit my drink out at anyone/Petyr because I am SO THERE with you, sister!

In general I’m a ship and let ship person.  And I totally get that reasonable minds can differ with respect to Harry/Ginny.  But I’m pretty convinced my NoTPs in ASoIaF are actually fact.  (I’m kidding) (Sort of.) (Not really?)

(OK, I’m firmly “meh” on Harry/Ginny myself, and not a huge Ron/Hermione fan either.)  

For me, even seeming incompatibility or crack-shipping is usually a “live and let live”. I may not like it and I’ll explain why I don’t like it if asked, but if it’s your bag, whatever, I’ll respect your right to ship it.  

My actual “Oh God please no” NoTPs are generally based on relationships I feel are very uncomfortable and wrong in promoting massive power differentials, abuse, blatant manipulation, and/or promoting harmful or mutually destructive dynamics.  

THG seems to have spawned several NoTPs for me compared to other fandoms, but that’s probably because it’s such a dark and fucked-up world that relationships involving harmful dynamics are far more easy to come by.  Although ASOIAF has potential too.  I mean, I list Dany/Jon as a NoTP but that’s more of a nuisance compared to something like Petyr/Sansa which I would feel extremely strongly about.   

On the subject of abusive relationship ships, I probably shouldn’t be surprised that someone (or multiple someones) ships Theon/Ramsey.  But ew.  A thousand times over.  I just hope that it’s a relatively small group and doesn’t become a fad ship.  HP fandom went through a phase where all the cool kids were writing Ginny/Tom Riddle.  Because apparently there’s nothing more romantic than a young girl and her abuser.

Ginny/Tom Riddle?  I’ve known guys who reminded me of the young Tom Riddle, and the idea of shipping them with anyone is revolting to me.
