i’m a prideful person

heresthethingaboutit:

i was raised that way. but somewhere along the line (recently) i’ve realized that  sometimes, it’s okay to ask for help. and sometimes, you have little choice.
if you’ve followed me for a while, you know a lot more about my health issues than most people.
my main issue right now is Gastroparesis. i’m almost completely unable to digest food now - the most “solid” food i eat is ramen noodles and they come back up a little over half the time. even drinking a protein shake sometimes results in excruciating pain and bloating - like this:

at the time of that picture, i hadn’t eaten solid food in over 3 days, and it had been almost 12 hours since i had anything other than water.

on top of the gastroparesis, they’ve found a bad infection in my digestive tract, that isn’t responding to antibiotics. we keep trying different kinds, but i can’t afford to keep paying these outrageous prices for them not to work. so this dangerous infection is just getting worse and worse.

i’ve been going to specialists for this (and other auto-immune diseases) and had a few hospital stays so, needless to say, i’m racking up the bills. not to mention medication after medication.
i’ve been trying to save up because i really need surgery, so as soon as i get that ok, i’d like to have the money to get the ball rolling. i’m also trying to save because i lose my good insurance (i use that term lightly) on may 12, and i won’t have near the coverage i have now. frankly, at this point, i’m terrified.

to make things just a little more stressful, right now i have a flare of pancreatitis and would LOVE to be able to go to the hospital for pain control, but we simply can’t afford it.

oh, and my car broke down this morning.

i’m really trying to keep my head above water but it seems like i can’t even do that, let alone get ahead and save for when i need it in the future.
i’d love to sell some art, but i don’t even have money for supplies right now.
so, i’m pushing my pride aside and asking for donations. please consider helping, even if it’s just a couple of dollars. if you can’t, if you’d please reblog so other people might help?

there’s a paypal button on my page.

Signal boost from a fellow gastroparesis patient.
