So I just walked next door. With no ill effects other than back pain.

In the past, pre-health-crash, my maximum walking distance on a good day was downstairs through the elevator and across the street and back, resting sometimes.

I think that’s enough walking distance that, if I train really hard between now and then, and use a cane or crutches if necessary, I can walk into my next GP appointment.  And even if I only do it once, and use a wheelchair (manual or powered) from then on, I’d love to do it once just because I could.

We’ll see.  There’s a treadmill upstairs I could start training on at low speed, seeing how far I could get my endurance and balance and stuff.  But I’d love to try it.  It would involve pushing myself, because no matter what I improve, I’ll still have a movement disorder that can affect things or make me freeze up.  But just for once, I’d love to do it.
