I’ve just seen a neurologist.

Like not a migraine doctor but an actual general neurologist.

It seemed to go well.  He’s ordered a lot of tests.  He wants to test me for the same things my mom has, but he thinks (as I’ve long suspected) that I may have something somewhat different (either in addition to what she has, or separate entirely).  

i’m getting a myasthenia gravis panel, a paraneoplastic panel, anti-SSA and anti-SSB antibody tests, and a fasting lactic acid test.  As well as some nerve and muscle testing.  Regardless of what the results are, we’re going to try to stick with the treatments that are working, but since I’ve had practically no testing done he wants to test everything.

He seemed very thorough, respectful, and objective.  He seems to want to go through all the possibilities and figure out if there’s anything we’ve been missing over the years.
