My friend was definitely right.
The tendon I injured is one used for rotation. I can do jumping jacks okay in a knee brace that keeps my legs aligned, although I’m trying to avoid it. (It’s hard. It feels really good to move in that way.) But if I try to do twists, it hurts like hell. And trying to turn in a foot-propelled manual wheelchair hurts too (my friend knew which tendon it was because she completely destroyed both of hers trying to operate a foot-propelled manual wheelchair, when combined with an autoimmune joint disease). So at least I know what to do and what not to do with my leg. I imagine that it must have gotten twisted around while I was jumping before because my knee joints are loose, or something? I’m not sure. I do know that the exercise bike I’ve been using is perfect because it kind of forces my legs to align in a way that doesn’t hurt at all. Our building has exercise equipment upstairs so I’ve been going up there and using it whenever I have a chance.
