About that last one…

I don’t know if there’s any standard by which I’d be attractive. I don’t know what, historically, Mohawk people’s beauty standard was. All I’ve got now is that I’m ugly by every standard I know.

I guess this is what colonization does? I mean, beauty standards are crap anyway, but… I never thought about this before. I never thought that there might be, or have been… an actual beauty standard by which I’m not ugly and “wrong.”

(And how I’m thinking of my mom going “Stop calling yourself ugly. You look like me and Grandma. Do you think we’re ugly?” when I know she thinks badly of her appearance too…)

Anyway, beauty standards are crap and it doesn’t matter if I would fit one.
