Reblog this if you think Tumblr should have a REAL blocking system

Tumblr’s current way of blocking just makes it so that user’s asks don’t show up in your inbox, and their reblogs won’t show up in the notes. But they can still follow your blog, reblog your posts, and pretty much live on as if you never blocked them.

This is unacceptable. Blocking should make it so they are no longer following you, cannot see your posts, and cannot reblog anything of yours. Of course this could be bypassed if they signed out and checked your blog, but just because a rule can be broken doesn’t mean they shouldn’t exist in the first place.

People are harassed, attacked, ganged up on, and bullied into suicide DAILY on this website. A reliable blocking feature could potentially save lives.

I will send this post to tumblr staff once its gained a large amount of notes. So please reblog this. Its about time we have a block feature that actually does something.

I’m not sure that blocking reblogs is viable given how reblog chains work, but otherwise I agree with this.

They used to have a much better blocking system and then they scrapped it and made it useless.
