It’s gotten to the point where…
…if someone identifies as aspie, I am on guard assuming that they’re going to be even more aggressively ableist about how I use language than neurotypical people are.
Language is… I am not made of words. I say a lot of words. I even like words. But I am not made of words.
And saying thing is hard sometimes and saying them according to someone else’s ruleset of how to say things is not always even possible.
Communication needs to start from acknowledging that different people communicate differently and that often there needs to be mutual accomodation and often there needs to be a translator.
