walkingsaladshooterfromheaven:

Advocating actual violence toward a privileged class of people actually hurts the most vulnerable members of that class (as well as people who are perceived to have that privilege when they actually do not). It does nothing to hurt the powerful people who are the real threat.

I’m not talking about vague threats of violence as a way to vent your emotions. That’s different.

Threats against specific people are not okay.

And violent *actions* themselves are only acceptable in very specific circumstances, when you know what you want to accomplish with it and you’re sure it won’t backfire against marginalized people. It had better be toward a very narrow target, and you’d better know what you’re doing, and you’d better listen to any marginalized person who tells you it’s a bad idea.

ESPECIALLY disabled people. Because I feel like I feel like they are the ones who always get shafted when people advocate violent revolution.
