Repost so this image can make it’s way around the world. So that the unjustified evacuation of the Kayapo tribe - an indigenous people of the Amazon region of Mato Grosso in Brazil can be noticed.
The construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam has begun, despite numerous protests and more than 600,000 signatures collected. Belo Monte, a total of 400,000 hectares of forest will be flooded, an area that is larger than the Panama Canal. 40,000 people in indigenous communities and the habitat of many plant and animal species, will be destroyed.
