Tattoo

I have one! For complicated privacy/self-consciousness reasons, I feel weird about posting a picture to this tumblr. But I will say that it includes cats. And that I love it. :D :D

The weirdest thing about getting it was how little it hurt. I was expecting something much worse. Granted, I got it in one of the (supposedly) least painful places, on my upper/outer arm. And my design only had a little bit of shading, vs. some I’ve seen.

But still, I have had *haircuts* more uncomfortable than this tattoo was. At worst it felt kind of like the sensation of licking a 9-volt battery (this is how I was taught to test them as a kid…if your tongue tingles, you know it’s charged!), only on my arm. Or like being lightly scratched with a hot fountain pen. It didn’t feel…injurious, or like a medical thing, at all, on any level. So that was a very happy surprise. 

I would still seriously appreciate it if you could help me design a tattoo that was equally personally meaningful on a deep level.  I’m not sure whether I’d end up getting one, but I’d love to have one to consider, and I don’t think I could do it justice.  I’d want it to reference redwoods (perhaps a redwood cone, or cone/needles), and have a sense of depth and marona about it, as well as many of the qualities of your tattoo.  I don’t know whether you’d be willing to attempt it or not, but I’d be really amazed to even see what you could come up with.  (And if I didn’t use it as a tattoo, I could use it as something else – jewelry, or a symbol, or etc.)  I’d probably get it on the same part of my arm, so it could be covered if necessary.  I’ve already got some recommendations for good places locally, but I’d want to think about it awhile before I actually went and tried to get one.  Especially with health concerns.

And I can confirm that your tattoo is utterly beautiful and amazing and fits you perfectly.
