i have to laugh the most bitter, dry laugh when i hear something like:

“there’s just not that many stories with disabled people because disability doesn’t affect that much of the population”

because, at 20% of the world’s population, that sounds like a nearly reasonable - though fairly obtuse - comment, until you realize white people make up the same percentage, and the media still finds a way to plaster us IN EVERY CORNER OF THE FUCKING WORLD.

And also it’s got to be higher than 20% when taken across a lifetime.
