disordered eating/body image stuff? Under cut. (also an undescribed image? I just can’t right now for reasons relevant to the post.)
Under cut, I offer no advice, only understanding. :-/
I have a lot of problems with my double chin, too. I’ve always had one. Even when I was skinny, I had one, because of the way my jaw slopes backwards really fast. So if I was doing anything but sticking my neck out straight (which I did constantly), you could see a double chin, and it really really bothered me. Intensely. Didn’t help that someone once offered to me the idea of reconstructive surgery, because that made it seem like even more of a monstrosity, something terribly wrong with me. So when I get fat, what happens but that I get an enormous double chin much more than I ever would’ve had when I was skinny, like this big roll of fat right there where my chin is. And people see it and talk about how EXTRA fat I must be to have a double chin that bad, when it’s just my fat distribution, and… argh. I’ve always had body image problems about my chin, and it only got worse when I got fat.
I wish I could offer any advice, but unfortunately I can only offer understanding.

jinxasaurus said: i’ve heard restricting too much is bad because it puts your body into ‘starvation mode’ which makes it store more stuff because it’s expecting to not get food regularly. but i don’t know if that’s relevant/helpful. sorry. :(
