Spellbound, a speculative fiction magazine for middle grade kids published by Eggplant Lit. Prod., is accepting submissions for its Fall 2014 issue. The theme is “Magical Cats.” Fiction stories and poetry should engage young readers with elements of magic, myth, and…

If you like magical cats, btw, I can’t do any better recommendation than the Feline Wizard series, part of the Young Wizards universe and vastly under appreciated:

The Book of Night With Moon

To Visit the Queen

The Big Meow

All by Diane Duane.  The thing that stands out is the cats are actually cats and act like cats.  And they’re magical.  And it’s one of those book series with deeper meanings underlying the whole thing.
