Does anyone know where that “geeky Aspie/autie” stereotype comes from? Is it from that Wired article (“The Geek Syndrome” I think it was called) that showed up over ten years ago? Or was it around even before that? Just curious.
It was around long before that. It comes from the fact that there’s always been a lot of overlap between geeks and autistic people.
