tropylium:

to continue the theme from three posts ago: can we please get rid of the idea that social justice is somehow all “obvious”? rather than filled with tons of new concepts & obstruse terminology & verbal conventions to learn

ditto for the idea that anyone who misses a point somewhere is a “derailing privilege-denying oppressor” or whatever until proven otherwise. I’ve observed plenty of activists with an apparent MO of “show newbies no mercy” or even altogether “shoot first, ask questions later”. no, SJ is not at all an easy-access field

(it gets painfully ironic once you factor in that these are hurdles especially for people with language and communication-related disabilities, a known subset of “marginalized”/”disprivileged”)
