Oh there were two separate people then.  The very first negative anon ask I got was something like “Why do you have a mustache and a beard and why do you have a feeding tube given you’re fat already?”

I did get an NG tube at one point, which I forgot about.  The NG tube was so that they could blow up my stomach with air prior to inserting the GJ tube.  It wasn’t a lasting thing, it was something they do prior to the surgery so they can see where they’re going and insert dye easily into the stomach. But people get NG tubes for all kinds of reasons, and anorexia is only one.  Basically being grossly underweight in general is one possible reason for a feeding tube, but it’s far from the only one.  Everyone needs to eat, and people who can’t eat by mouth need feeding tubes of some kind.  There’s lots of different kinds of tubes.
