Not to mention

That there’s something extremely fucked-up about kicking nonbinary, genderless, genderqueer, gender-fluid, etc. people out of communities that are traditionally ‘male’ or 'female’ (including gay and lesbian communities[*], of which many of us find ourselves being in one or the other, going back and forth, straddling, etc. in an effort to find belonging, and some of us do find belonging, and we don’t always find belonging in the places that are currently politically correct havens for us either).  Because there are much fewer of us than there are of either cis or trans men or women.  And we can’t just go find communities for our own gender or lack thereof.  We don’t have that kind of power or numbers.  So shutting us out in the name of 'protecting’ communities from people whose experiences need to not be 'centered’ in those communities, is just ideological BS that ends up meaning we don’t have communities to come home to, and that’s outright dangerous to us.

Very few people seem to notice or mention that.  There’s this assumption that we’ll just disappear and find places just for us, when such places may not even exist.

[[*] There have always been connections between the LGB communities and the T communities, they have always been blended together in thoroughly messy ways, and modern ideology can’t instantly do away with what has grown up organically for over a hundred years.  Nor should it.]
