waltzingwithmonsters-deactivate asked: do you get the feeling of inherent duality, of the mind being separate from the body, like you're "piloting" your body? because i have that feeling very strongly (stronger some days than others) and it was present before i fell ill (i'm mobility impaired rn) and i wonder if this is something else that's common to autism but not discussed in diagnostic manuals

It’s extremely common for autistic people.  I’ve had it before, but not so much lately.  I’ve felt like in my thirties I’ve finally become incarnate.  But before that… wow.  I can’t tell how much of that was autism and how much of it was severe dissociation though (my guess if it’s dissociation was it was pain-related).
