I would really, really love it if the BBC Sherlock fandom would divorce themselves from the phrase “high-functioning”. You literally have no idea how it affects people on the autistic spectrum.

Stop it; it’s derogatory, oppressive, and all around wrong. It truly goes to show that people will use basically any phrase when it’s seen in TV whilst being COMPLETELY ignorant of the implications that persist behind it.

Would also help if they’d stop glorifying ‘sociopath’.  Which is supposed to be a word for someone with no conscience, not something cool or benign.
