patternsmaybe:

it’s ok to like things that have no political importance and to spend a lot of time doing them

This. As an artist, this. I wish I cared about things that “matter” enough to make art about them, but I don’t. I just want to be ok, and I want my pots that “matter” to reflect a sense of being ok. And that’s ok.

I spend all of my time crocheting and this is a good thing.

If people can’t do the things that make us and each other happy, then what is all that political work for, anyway?  Isn’t it supposed to be so that people have the room to thrive and do what we do best?

Yes. I wear (and knit) a lot of hats, but “political activist” isn’t one of them.
