Murder and entitlement

feliscorvus:

I know it’s not really reasonable to expect to explain murder by any one single factor, but if I absolutely had to boil it down…it seems like “overblown sense of entitlement” is a big contributor in a lot of cases. Whether it’s “random guy feels entitled to an endless parade of women to date” or “parent feels entitled to a particular idea of a ‘normal child’”, or “leader of one country feels entitled to [area of land]”, etc. But for whatever reason this tends to come up less frequently than the idea of it *being okay to murder in SOME cases of entitlement.” And that is kind of terrifying. :/

Yes, it seems like one of those things that is more likely to push someone over the edge.  Probably why most mass murderers are privileged white guys, too.
