Welcome to Neurodivergent Exchange!

We’ve all seen posts requesting and offering assistance for various things. Many of them take off like a shot because like-minded individuals are generous enough to pool their resources. It seems that the wider the Tumblr community gets, the more eager we are to help each other out. So, that’s what this blog is all about! Neurodivergent Exchange is a space where non-NT individuals can exchange information, items, and other resources, and can network to fill various needs.

For instance, maybe you’re sensory-defensive, and the cheap, foam, drugstore earplugs don’t filter out enough noise for your taste; submit an inquiry to us, and we’ll connect you to other sensory-defensives who can make some recommendations. Maybe you’re autistic, and you have your eye on a website that sells weighted blankets, but you don’t have the money for one; let us know and we’ll try to connect you with someone who can make you a blanket at a discount, or we’ll chip in from our donations.

This is also a place to seek resources and information within the neurodivergent community. Need to know how to find supportive organizations in your area or online? We’ll put out a request for you. Have a special interest and want to dig into it a bit deeper than you have been? Infodump on us a little, and we’ll help you connect with others who share your interest.

Since this is an exchange, it goes both ways. Have an extra stim toy, or the time and know-how to make one? We can spread the word! Have a neurodivergent-friendly blog recommendation? Send it our way! Have a few spare dollars to help someone buy a weighted blanket or an AAC device? We’ll help you put them to good use!

On our Documents page, you’ll find our Offers & Requests sheet. If you need something, check here first! This sheet is open to everyone, so you can simply look to see all of the offers and requests currently on Neurodivergent Exchange, or you can join in! There’s a note at the top of the sheet that explains how to edit, so you can either make a request, make an offer, or connect with someone who has already posted.

Our Resource Masterlist is always growing. We hope to include as many neurodivergence-friendly blogs and resources as we can, plus some useful tags on Neurodivergent Exchange. Send us suggestions and requests by submission, ask, or email, and we’ll happily post them!

Also on our Documents page, you’ll find a sheet titled Contributions & Expenses. In the interest of transparency, this is where you’ll be able to see any donations we’ve received and how we’re putting them to use.

We want to get things up and running, so please bear with us while some of our pages are still under construction. Lastly, please keep in mind that as this blog grows, we want it to be as accessible and flexible as possible, so we really appreciate any suggestions!
