Why do so many people assume…

…that relating a basic, neutral fact about onesself is equivalent to claiming “I am HORRIBLY OPPRESSED AND SUFFERING because I’m [thing]!”

Seriously. And I don’t get why just mentioning something, or wanting people like you to feel included in basic human stuff, is considered “attention seeking”. 

I wish I knew.

I wish I knew why so many different things are given so many vastly different weights from what they meant to the person saying them.
