(maybe this is connected to my own weirdness - where if you set up the typical mind/body split (which I don’t even think is always real) but *if* you set that up - “I” am always going to be my body.  The only times where “I” have been split that way and have been my mind have been where I have been manipulated by people trying to make me non-disabled by brute force.)

That is absolutely true for me as well.

I don’t do a mind-body split but I see myself as my body.

For some reason, though, I don’t see language about bodies the same way I see myself about being my body.

Maybe because language is completely divorced from my experience of the world in many ways.

So I have the same experience you describe above.

But when I see people saying “black bodies have been used in X way”, or “Disabled bodies have been used in Y way”,  I keep thinking of animated corpses somehow.
