frandrogynous:

I’m finding this really funny now. My mother, since the show Big Bang Theory started, has always said that I am exactly like Sheldon Cooper. (I have no idea why she watches the show. There’s no way she gets most of the jokes.) Now, I and my friends who know me way more intimately completely disagree with her, but that isn’t the point.

She has tons of animus towards autistic people and is in complete denial that I am autistic.

I’m just sitting here laughing about how mad she would get if I told her the writers intentionally wrote Sheldon as someone on the spectrum, which they didn’t actually say outright on the show because they didn’t want to be accountable for total accuracy. I’m sure that went right over her head when watching.

How long do you think it would take for her to stop comparing me to Sheldon (to my complete annoyance)?

My mom calls me Sheldon a lot.

I don’t actually think I’m that much like him.  I think she just says that because we both get very rigid sometimes about how we want things to be.
