Thanks.  I haven’t always been nonverbal (but my communication issues were complicated even when I was verbal), so I am likely different from your brother in that respect.  I have a condition called autistic catatonia that can turn even people with no history of speech problems nonverbal.  I did have speech problems even when I was verbal though.  Just telling you so you don’t get the wrong impression of my history, because a lot of people do get the wrong impression.
