Anyone on the spectrum who also has an autistic sibling? I wanna know if you guys ever had difficulties communicating, or just how things are between you in general.

I have an autistic older brother.  We are both autistic, but we are opposites in nearly every area related to autism that it is possible to be.  We find it very hard to communicate with each other, or even comprehend each other, because of that.

But I also don’t have most of the so-called “sibling issues” that nondisabled siblings of disabled people have, I’ve never felt comfortable in “sibling support groups” (I find them downright toxic most of the time), and I can’t identify with just about anything I’ve ever read about having a disabled or autistic sibling.  Probably because I’m autistic and otherwise disabled myself.

Anyway, so… yeah my brother and I are both autistic, but we have very little in common.  Like we’ve got a few things in common because of autism, but for the most part our subtypes of autism are totally opposite.  And by totally opposite I mean so opposite that it’s almost as if someone planned it out that any trait I have is the opposite of a trait he has.
