YAY I’m home. The cab pulled up right as I wrote that last post about having to wait so long for the cab. I’m in bed, on oxygen, got all the meds into my system that I needed to get into my system to handle the doctor trip today, and much much happier than I was sitting in that hospital lobby waiting to come home.
The nurses are apparently convinced that my doctor has “cured me” (by finding and treating the adrenal insufficiency) and are extremely excited about it. I told them “well kind of”. Without words, I mean, since I was standing and couldn’t type. But they’re excited anyway, I guess it really is as rare as my doctor says that he gets to improve someone’s physical abilities this much. And it is exciting, so I won’t try to disabuse the nurses too much of this notion. I mean, no, I’m not a miracle cure story, but I’m not going to change their minds and they’re not doing me any harm.
Oh and also I’m chewing gum – spearmint and cinnamon again, which I love because it makes my mouth feel similar to after brushing my teeth or something when it feels really fresh. This is doing a lot towards making me feel better about barely getting anything to eat today. (I have a procedure tomorrow, and between fasting for that and the appointment today the amount of food I’m getting is very minimal.)
Tomorrow is going to be a nerve block day. Which means prepare for epic pain for a few days followed, hopefully, by relief as usual. I’ve had a whole lot of neck pain lately so I’m hoping this will help.
The oxygen is helping a lot.
