Anonymous asked: Thank you for talking about ACs today. Another group of people it really helps are borderline self-diagnosed people. Where I can wiffle back and forth "is this me? am I appropriating? This sure sounds like me! Maybe it's just sensory/social/motor/language problems that aren't on the spectrum. Maybe I'm just weird?" Opening up to ACs Instead focuses on just communicating and being in a community and hearing different perspectives. Which is way more useful than medicalizing has been, for me.

Yes I really love the idea of cousins.  It helps a lot of people.  And yes, it allows people on the border to say “Am I autistic? Am I a cousin? Does it matter right now?  Because I can just live in this border area until I’m ready to figure it out for sure, or I can stay here forever, and I can still have a place in the community.”
