Promethazine isn’t codeine syrup!?!

Promethazine (a.k.a. Phenergan, Phenadoz, etc.) is a super-mild neuroleptic that’s mostly used for nausea or allergies.  You can’t get high off it.  I have to stick it up my butt four times a day for gastroparesis-induced nausea, which may be TMI, but oh well.

Promethazine is in some codeine syrups, but it’s not the same as codeine and you can’t get high off it and promethazine alone does nothing other than make you feel kind of icky.

Most of these lists are lists of words that are different words for the drug in question.  Promethazine is not a word for codeine syrup, even if it’s in some forms of codeine syrup, and I’m vastly confused by this.
