In fact, if you saw it somewhere you probably wouldn’t know that it is considered a tree. The dwarf willow (salix herbacea) takes the tittle of the smallest tree in the world. It is mostly found in the harsh arctic and subarctic environments around the North Atlantic Ocean, but it still manages to survive. So how small is this tree? It typically grows to only 1–6 cm (0.39-2.36 inches) in height. It features round, shiny and green leaves that are 1–2 cm (0.39-0.78 inches) long and are quite broad.
