There *are* autistic people (and more often, parents of autistic people) who really do oppose all treatments and treat them as somehow being cure or an insult to acceptance.

There are people who do this with things like ADHD or mental illness too, who say that any form of treatment, especially medication, is inherently dehumanizing.

And who say any involvement with the medical system at all is somehow anti-ND.

That’s not my view. But it’s prevalent among people who are absolutely insistent that autism isn’t a disability or disorder and that it’s deeply offensive to call it one.
